Licensed plumbing and heating businesses will be invited to nominate themselves for a brand new annual award being launched by the leading trade body representing plumbing and heating businesses in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
In recognition of the importance of professional plumbing, The Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation will reward one of its member firms with the title ‘SNIPEF Business of Year 2015’.
The winning firm will have to show that they have excellent technical skills and ability, they offer excellence in customer service and they are committed to raising standards in the industry.
Also launching today is an award for an individual working for a merchant. SNIPEF members are asked to nominate a local merchant sales individual or representative who they believe should be recognised for excellent levels of customer service and support.
Robert Burgon, SNIPEF Chief Executive, said:
“We are delighted to launch this annual programme of awards to recognise formally the great work carried out by our members and those who work with them. In a very competitive marketplace it is more important than ever that we emphasise the value of professionalism and technical skill.
Using a properly qualified and reputable tradesperson seems like an obvious choice but householders often choose the cheapest option. Many of our members invest in their businesses and their staff to make sure they can offer the very best services to customers and we think that commitment should be recognised and celebrated.
The introduction of an award for great service from the merchants underpins the importance good relationships with local suppliers. We know that this forms a key part of the formula for delivering professional plumbing”.
