BPEC Awards for Excellence 2021
Nominations now open!
Plumbing and heating trainees and tutors have shown the most incredible resilience and commitment throughout the coronavirus crisis. In no other year has it been more important to celebrate and reward outstanding achievements.
The BPEC Charity has partnered with the Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) and the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF) to bring you the first ever BPEC Awards for Excellence. We are also delighted that Monument Tools is onboard as our main Awards sponsor for this year.
We are asking for nominations for plumbing and heating tutors, apprentices and other trainees who have excelled in their area of expertise, overcome personal difficulties to succeed or helped their community during the pandemic.
Nominations can be made through a simple online nomination form for the following awards categories:
Making a Difference in the Community
This award recognises a Trainee/Apprentice/Tutor from the plumbing industry who has made a difference to the social well-being of their local community in the pandemic. This could be through volunteering or charity work or by any means where the individual has gone above and beyond to support their local community in the pandemic.
Best Plumbing Trainer in the Workplace
This award recognises individuals that have provided excellent support and training to plumbing apprentices/trainees in the real work environment. The trainer will have added value to the students learning experience by either linking the learning received by the student in college/training provider to the workplace; raising the student’s practical installation skills; highlighting the importance of excellent customer service; or providing ongoing mentoring/coaching.
Best Use of Technology in the Delivery of Plumbing Training
This category requires students or a Training Provider/College to nominate an individual tutor / group of tutors who have delivered Plumbing education through online / digital methods and demonstrated that it can be engaging and that it supported the achievement of learners in a challenging environment by going the extra mile.
Best Plumbing Apprentice/Trainee
This category rewards an apprentice/trainee that has adapted to the challenges of learning in a pandemic and applied the learning to real work situations. This may include over coming personal / professional difficulties in this difficult period and maintaining a positive outlook on the future. They will also have demonstrated excellent customer service by adopting safe systems of work and helping customers in a pandemic.
