BPEC Awarding Organisation Approach to Awarding in 2022-23

Reminder Adaptations are no longer permitted
In the 2021-22 academic year, several adaptations were in place to support the continuation of training and assessment in response to public health restrictions for BPEC registered learners expecting to take assessments during this period. In preparation for the 2022-23 academic year Ofqual announced for vocational and technical qualifications (VTQs) taken in schools and colleges, alongside or instead of GCSEs and A levels, awarding organisations are required to take account of the approach used in general qualifications so that students taking VTQs are not advantaged or disadvantaged in comparison.
For VTQs this meant a return to pre-pandemic standards. Given that public health restrictions are no longer in place, in 2022 BPEC confirmed to centres a return to pre-pandemic standards and that adaptations were no longer permitted for the academic year 2022 to 2023 onwards. Learners registered for the academic year 2022-23 are not permitted any form of adaptation.
