BPEC’s Chief Executive Officer, Neil Collishaw and Business Area Manager, Kevin Clark heard of some exciting new developments and plans for the Building Services Engineering (BSE) department of Burnley College during a recent visit there.
Burnley College is a trusted partner of BPEC and reports that plumbing student registrations have increased so much that they have had to recruit two new plumbing lecturers to cope with the extra demand. The College is extending its renewable energy training services with ambitious plans for innovative training, plus it plans to build new classroom and workshop facilities starting later in 2022.
During the visit, Neil and Kevin met with David Lord, Head of Division, Steve Dobney, Curriculum Manager and other staff who gave them a tour of the plumbing workshops, End-point Assessment (EPA) bays and the new renewable energy learning centre.
“It was great to meet the team last week. The college has an excellent reputation in our industry, and I was particularly impressed with its thriving plumbing division and bold plans to adapt and evolve to meet the skills needs of the BSE sector,” Neil Collishaw said. “We’re proud to have Burnley College as a BPEC centre; we value the partnership we’ve formed and look forward to it continuing and growing in the future.”
David Lord, Burnley College responded, “We always find BPEC staff approachable and supportive, so it was great to hear about their plans to assist us even further during a particularly exciting time for the College. We’re also looking forward to extending our delivery of BPEC services to include the Electrical Energy Storage Systems course.”
