Life changing transformation aided by BPEC Support Fund

BPEC contributed £1569.46 worth of plumbing & heating materials to assist the modernisation of a property featured in the BBC One series ‘DIY SOS: The Big Build’.

Ten years ago Richard and Jude Ford met while working for the police. They soon realised that they were meant for each other, and settled down to start a family – now they have three sons.

Though in his professional life Richard was a policeman, in his personal life he was not only a devoted husband and father but also a keen athlete and coached his sons’ football club.

In June 2012, two weeks after running the Edinburgh Marathon, Richard suffered a devastating Brain Stem Stroke. Richard has since returned home and with the aid of his iPad voice simulator he tells us “All I want is to be a husband and father again”.

Substantial refurbishment to the bathroom and central heating system has been carried out, thus creating a life changing transformation for the Ford home in Holmfirth.

The programme will be available to watch Thursday 17th December 2015 on BBC1 at 9pm.
