Support Information | The Level 2 Award in Gas Safety Awareness is designed to give learners who complete the qualification the knowledge and confidence to identify possible signs that a gas appliance or installation is potentially dangerous, and then know what action to take under those circumstances. | ||||||
Assessment Information | This Level 2 Qualification requires the completion of one centre based knowledge assessment that is administered via a 30 question paper based multi-choice examination. | ||||||
Unit Details | The qualification is made up of one mandatory unit: H/617/1675 – Gas Safety Awareness in Residential Premises | ||||||
Pre-requisites | Learners are not required to hold any qualifications prior to undertaking this qualification. However, learners are required to have a basic knowledge of numeracy and literacy. | ||||||
Further Information | This qualification is for learners aged 16 years and over who are engaged in employment activities which require them to attend the domestic homes of clients or service users. | ||||||

Career Opportunities | Learners can progress to a Level 3 Award in Gas Safety Awareness for Supervisors and Managers if this is appropriate to the scope of their job role.

Industry Recognition | The Level 2 Award in Gas Safety Awareness is not a license to practice. Those who achieve the qualification will not be recognised by the Gas Industry as being formally qualified in any element relating to gas safety. |
