Assessment Information

This is a nationally recognised qualification and is designed for learners already holding a relevant level 2 Plumbing and Heating qualification, who wish to specialise in the installation, service and maintenance of a wide range of plumbing and heating systems in domestic environments.

  • R/602/2498 Understand how to organise resources within BSE
  • K/502/8930 Understand and apply domestic cold water system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
  • K/502/9155 Understand and apply domestic hot water system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
  • M/502/9156 Understand and apply domestic central heating system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
  • T/502/9157 Understand and carry out electrical work on domestic plumbing and heating systems and components

 

Plumbing and Heating Units

  • D/502/9296 Understand and apply domestic sanitation system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
  • K/502/9298 Install, commission, service and maintain domestic plumbing and heating systems
Pre-requisites

This qualification is aimed at those who have already completed a suitable Level 2 Plumbing qualification.

Further Information

Assessments consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations. On completion, BPEC Certification Ltd will upload the relevant results to Gas Safe Register

Expiry Information

For the purpose of Gas Safe registration the specific units relating to gas safety are normally valid for 5 years.

On expiry, candidates are eligible to take re-assessment. The re-assessment can be taken up to 6 months prior to the expiry date of the initial qualification without losing out (MOT Style). Previous certificates must be presented to the assessment centre as evidence of holding the initial qualification.
