Domestic Ventilation Systems

Assessment Information

BPEC has developed this course with the aim of providing electricians, plumbers, heating engineers and ventilation engineers with the knowledge and skills to correctly install and commission domestic ventilation systems. The course has been structured to meet the requirements of the Approved Document Part F of the Building Regulations 2020 and is recognised as a demonstration of competence for Competent Person Schemes (CPS).

Pre-requisites

Trainees should hold a formal craft qualification e.g. N/SVQ 2/3 in Electrical, Plumbing, Heating or Heating and Ventilation and have a working knowledge of the construction of dwellings.

Further Information

Assessments normally consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.

Expiry Information

Certificates are normally valid for 5 years.

This 2 day course is designed to meet the requirements of the manufacturers for the installation, inspection, testing, commissioning and provision of information for fixed Domestic Ventilation Systems for both new and existing buildings currently available in the UK.

Whilst this document has been designed specifically to address Approved Document F, Volume 1. for England and Approved Document F, Volume 1. for Wales, the guidance given is equally applicable to Scotland.
