Support Information | The Level 1 Award in Gas Safety Awareness is designed to give learners a basic understanding of key points relating to domestic gas safety, and how to identify devices and features associated to gas safety within domestic properties. | ||||||
Assessment Information | This Level 1 Qualification requires the completion of one centre based knowledge assessment that is administered via a 20 question paper based multi-choice examination. | ||||||
Unit Details | The qualification is made up of one mandatory unit: D/617/1674– Basic Gas Safety Awareness in Residential Premises | ||||||
Pre-requisites | Learners are not required to hold any qualifications prior to undertaking this qualification. However, learners are required to have a basic knowledge of numeracy and literacy. | ||||||
Further Information | This qualification is for learners aged 16 years and over who are engaged in activities which require them to attend the residential homes of clients or service users as part of their day to day job role or for those who may undertake volunteer work. | ||||||

Career Opportunities | Learners can progress to a Level 2 Award in Gas Safety Awareness if this is appropriate to the scope of their job role or would benefit them personally. | ||||||
Industry Recognition | The Level 1 Award in Gas Safety Awareness is not a license to practice. Those who achieve the qualification will not be recognised by the Gas Industry as being formally qualified in any element relating to gas safety. |
