The MEB 1 qualification is designed for installers who are required to alter or extend the equipotential conductor when changing the position of gas meter.
Candidates must hold a current CCN1, CMA1, or CESP1 and a MET1 qualification (or equivalent).
Normally, the training and assessment can be completed in one day. The assessment process involves a short practical and theory exam.
Certificates are normally valid for 5 years.
Training is NOT a pre-requisite for assessment although most candidates do elect to undertake some sort of training beforehand.
Assessment centres normally provide the opportunity for candidates to undertake training prior to the assessment; training materials are also available from a number of other sources.
