Matt Skelding

Head of Operations and Development

Experience

Matt has worked in the plumbing industry since 1991, with almost 15 years’ experience in education, qualifications and assessment. Matt’s first 5 years in education were working in Further Education, where he developed as a Grade 1 Tutor, becoming a Subject Learning Coach and Mentor after attaining his teaching, assessing and verification qualifications.  Matt then moved on to work in the private education sector as Director of Learning for a multi-site training organisation, specialising in Construction and Building Services where he was responsible for the quality of teaching and learning for all programmes as well as setting the strategy of the organisation.

BPEC Journey

Matt joined BPEC as a Development Manager in October 2015, and then planned and managed the development and implementation of the BPEC End-point Assessment Organisation.

In January 2019, Matt took a new role at BPEC as Head of Operations and Development.

Interests

Matt is a season ticket holder at Rotherham United and an avid stand-up comedy fan; he assures us that these activities are completely unrelated!  His favourite quote is attributed to Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t…  You’re right”.
