BPEC Congratulates Successful Centres Named as Construction Technical Excellence Colleges

BPEC is proud to congratulate two of its approved centres – Wigan & Leigh College and Leeds College of Building – on being named among the first ten Construction Technical Excellence Colleges in England. This prestigious recognition is part of a £100 million government drive to boost construction skills and strengthen the future workforce.
Both colleges received BPEC’s full support during the application process, with BPEC providing endorsement letters to highlight their dedication to delivering high-quality training and their commitment to advancing skills within the construction and built environment sector.
Speaking about the announcement, Kev Clark, BPEC’s Head of Technical Operations, said:
“We are delighted to see Wigan & Leigh College and Leeds College of Building recognised as Technical Excellence Colleges. Along with other BPEC approved centres, both have shown exceptional commitment to equipping the next generation of construction professionals with the skills, knowledge and behaviours the industry needs. At BPEC, we are proud to support centres that share our vision of raising standards and creating opportunities across the sector.”
BPEC looks forward to working even more closely with Wigan & Leigh College and Leeds College of Building as they embrace their new roles. This recognition not only strengthens their position within the construction training landscape but also represents a fantastic opportunity to inspire learners and address vital skills gaps across the country.
