Assessment Information

This is a nationally recognised qualification in the installation and maintenance of air source heat pump systems. The qualification is recognised by the Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies as an acceptable qualification to join one of their respective schemes.

Unit Details
  • K/650/2404 Know the requirements to size, select, install, commission and handover ground source heat pump systems (non-refrigerant circuits)
  • L/650/2405 Plan, prepare, install, commission, and maintain a ground source heat pump (non-refrigerant circuits)
  • Learners should have a minimum NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in plumbing or conventional heating engineering, or a demonstrable number of years of relevant experience
  • Water Regs UK Water Regulations/Water Byelaws or equivalent

Assessments consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.
