Assessment Information

The assessment is a combination of both practical and theory examinations.

BPEC recommends that you use the training manual as a pre-course study pack to prepare you for training and assessment.

This training material will serve both as a means of learning, as well as a tool of reference for future use.

Pre-requisites

Registered Gas Safe operative with work categories CCN1, CEN and HTR1 or OFTEC technician with scope of work categories 101,102 or 105e and:
• Evidence of formal qualifications N/SVQ Level 2/3 in plumbing or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
• Demonstrable, appropriate previous work experience on dry stove installations

AND, if not included in the above:

  • Water Regulations/Water Byelaws
  • Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating
Further Information

An important element of this course is to understand the requirement to meet National Occupation Standards for competency for installation of domestic solid fuel heating systems.

Expiry Information

Certification is normally valid for 5 years.
