Smart Gas Training and Assessment celebrate 1st anniversary with BPEC

Smart Gas Training and AssessmentAfter many enjoyable years managing and delivering within the plumbing and gas faculty at a local college,  John Grocott and Patrick O’Sullivan (pictured right with BPEC’s Grant Davies) embarked on a new venture by opening their own training centre, Smart Gas Training and Assessment during April 2017.

Based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, they offer a flexible approach to training and assessment, opening their doors to the local industry on weekends and evenings. In one short year, they have extended their scope to include Domestic ACS, Water Regulations and Unvented Hot Water and are now in the process of becoming an apprenticeship training provider.

Patrick O’Sullivan added: ‘The demand and popularity of the Gas courses have enabled us to expand into offering both Unvented Hot Water and Water regulations courses, which are proving just as popular as the Gas Assessments.

Asked about the high points of their journey so far, John Grocott says, “the flexibility of weekend assessments has proved to be a very popular decision with the engineers as this doesn’t interfere with their day to day roles. As former gas engineers ourselves, we understand the importance of offering an alternative to the normal Monday to Friday”.
