BPEC Trustees visit water aid charity Aquabox

On 3rd July 2024, the BPEC-supported Aquabox water aid charity hosted a visit by BPEC Trustees and CEO Neil Collishaw as part of a packed week that included the BPEC AGM and Board Meeting, lunchtime social with BPEC staff, and the fantastic ‘Great BPEC Bake-Off’ cooking event.

Established in 1992 and based in Wirksworth near Matlock, Derbyshire, this international charity and community project provides clean water, using filtration units, to crisis zones worldwide. With more than 70 volunteers, it relies entirely on donations, supporters, and fundraising activities.

“With so many people across the world needing access to clean drinking water, we’re delighted to have already donated £3,500 in 2024 to support Aquabox in producing and supplying essential filtration systems,” Neil Collishaw says. “I was extremely pleased that we could schedule a follow-up visit in the same week as our Board meeting, bringing BPEC Trustees to Aquabox to meet some of its amazing volunteers.”

To date, more than 50 countries have received aid from Aquabox, with an estimated two billion litres of contaminated water converted into safe clean water.
