Christmas Message from Neil Collishaw – CEO of BPEC

On behalf of the whole BPEC team, I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all our customers for their continued business throughout the year.

I am proud of what the BPEC team has achieved this year, continuing to offer unparalleled products, services, and support to our network of UK-wide centres. Throughout the year BPEC has achieved significant milestones, developed new partnerships and successfully implemented new products and services.

A few key highlights of the year are as follows:

  • Early in the year BPEC’s Awarding Organisation issued its 20,000th certificate for regulated qualifications.
  • Our Awarding Organisation was the first in the UK to award an Experienced Worker certificate for the Fire, Emergency & Security Systems industry.
  • BPEC has successfully completed over 931 End-point Assessments across the following apprenticeship standards:
    • Gas Engineering
    • Plumbing & Heating
    • Fire, Emergency & Security Systems.
  • We were particularly pleased with customer loyalty indicators on our 2023 annual survey; a high percentage (81%) of respondents said they are very satisfied with BPEC!

BPEC is a unique not-for-profit organisation, and gift aids any surplus funds to our Charity. The BPEC Charity has had a busy year, some headlines being:

  • Developed several new initiatives in collaboration with Ideal Heating. This has enabled a new ‘heat pump’ module has been incorporated into the competitions, essential CPD training completed by the BPEC technical team and the promotion of new (& free) video-based training courses on Heat Pumps.
  • The charity has supported two charities during 2024 – Aquabox (who provide water filters to countries in need) and the Lighthouse Charity, who provide financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families.
  • This year at the SkillPLUMB UK finals we saw an unprecedented standard of excellence, with competitors demonstrating remarkable skill and dedication. We were also able to celebrate Ruben Duggan (one of BPEC’s former SkillPLUMB winners) international success, as he was awarded a silver medal at WorldSkills 2024 in France.

We value your support in choosing to deliver BPEC’s courses, qualifications, assessments, and training materials. Our overriding aim is to continue instilling pride through achievement as we move into 2025.

I hope you all have a great Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
