BPEC has partnered with the Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) and the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF) to announce an exciting new awards initiative for the education sector.
After what has been a difficult year for those in education and training, these plumbing and heating awards will reward students, apprentices and tutors who have excelled over the past 18 months. BPEC is therefore seeking nominations for plumbing and heating trainers and trainees who have excelled in their area of expertise, overcome personal difficulties to succeed or helped their community during the pandemic.
Nominations open on 27 September 2021 and close on 31 October 2021. An independent panel of judges drawn from the industry will assess all the entries and then shortlists will be declared in mid-November, ahead of the winners being announced at a special virtual ceremony to be held on 8 December 2021.
BPEC is looking for nominations in the following award categories:
- Making a Difference in the Community
- Best Use of Technology in the Delivery of Plumbing Training
- Best Plumbing Apprentice/Trainee
- Best Plumbing Trainer in the Workplace
“Our objective in launching these new and exciting annual awards is to celebrate the achievements and innovations of tutors and trainees over the past 12 months,” states Neil Collishaw, Chief Executive Officer, BPEC. “After such a tough year, we are keen to showcase the dedication, expertise and sheer hard work of those working in the sector and actually in education.”
It has also been announced that Monument Tools will be the main Awards sponsor.
“It is an honour to sponsor the inaugural BPEC Awards for Excellence. Monument Tools has a long history of supporting BPEC and the wider apprentice, learning and training sector and these awards are an opportunity for us to continue to give our support, by rewarding those who have excelled during these difficult times,” said Monument Tools Sales Director, Jamie Fisher. “As a British manufacturer it is key for us to support the grass roots of our industry and these awards are a great opportunity to do just that.”
John Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of awards partner APHC says, “Having navigated a challenging year, I believe it’s the ideal time to celebrate students and trainers who have surpassed expectations and done something truly outstanding during that period. APHC’s participation in this fantastic awards event is also the ideal complement to our own Quality Plumber Week 2021 in October when we will be championing our post-pandemic plumbing heroes.”
Fiona Hodgson, Chief Executive Officer, SNIPEF added, “It’s a great privilege for SNIPEF to be involved in the new BPEC Plumbing and Heating Awards. They are definitely something we wanted to be aligned with, offering a unique opportunity for those in the education sector to showcase their skills, creativity and philanthropy.”
The application process will include the completion of an online form which will cover the name of the person being nominated for the award, the person or organisation nominating them and a 300-word overview detailing why they should receive that specific award.
Successful winners and those shortlisted will receive an enviable set of prizes: BPEC Training Manuals and Winners Certificate, Cash/Vouchers and products from our sponsor, Monument Tools.
